Miss (n.) –
1. This is an occasion when a shot is not executed along its desired path. 2. In snooker it can be a call the referee makes to claim a shot was not attempted toward the object ball in the best effort possible.

1. That was another miss; I am not playing well today. 2. That was a miss; you could have done that better.
