Head Spot (n.) – - Billiards Dictionary
Head Spot (n.) –
This line is where the head string would contact a line drawn from the center of the top of the table down table. It denotes the top center of the table, opposite the foot spot.

You can put the cue ball on the head spot when you break, and that way you can just hit it straight toward the rack.
