Foot string (n.) - Billiards Dictionary
Foot string (n.)
Much like the imaginary line that denotes the kitchen at the bottom of the table; this would be a line, perpendicular to the long rails, connecting the second diamonds up from the bottom of the table. This line is opposite the head string, and will cross over the foot spot.

All the balls left are behind the foot string.
