(n.) – This is a particular shot, where the tip of the cue impacts above the center of the cue, thus applying top spin. The purpose of this shot is to have the cue ball follow the object ball down the table after they have contacted.
(v.) – Refers to the action of the cue ball when it continues on the same path following the struck object ball.
1. I am going to put follow on this shot so I can end up at the other side of the table.
2. I followed that ball almost all the way to the pocket, stopping right at the rail.
