9-ball (n.) - Billiards Dictionary
9-ball (n.)
This game is played with the first nine balls, and racked in a diamond instead of a triangle. The goal is to pocket each ball in successive order, or to sink a legal combination shot to give yourself another turn. The winner is the player to pocket the nine ball after all other balls have been sunk, or through a legal combination shot.

I wish I could play 9-ball like the pro’s on ESPN.
